Take five bar12/30/2023 ![]() Initial taste testing conducted by the brand confirmed the bar tastes the same as the four-finger one, with the main difference being it takes consumers longer to eat. The new five-finger bar is due to hit shelves everywhere later this month. I’m proud of what a great product the team has created and I’m keen to hear what chocolate fans make of the new design,” added James Crisp, Chief Waferologist, KitKat. “I’m ready to take five after this intense development period that has seen us deliver the new KitKat five-finger bar. I’d like to give a big high five to the development team behind this revolutionary idea and would encourage everyone to take five out of their day to try the new bar.” “We like to call the fifth finger in our KitKat Thumb, and we have to hand it to ourselves, we think we’ve scored a winner here. As fans of the brand know, our bar comes in 2 and 4-finger varieties, so we thought, why not make a full fist of it?” explained Katherine Barr, Head of Innovative Twists, KitKat. “This twist on our classic KitKat has been years in the making, so we are thrilled to finally share our prized five-fingered KitKat. To honour this occasion and show commitment to the new shape, the brand has said, it is changing its new tagline from ‘Have a Break, have a KitKat’ to ‘Take five! Take a KitKat’, “signalling the dawn of a new, thumb-filled era”. Nonfat Milk, Cream, Caramel Sauce, Chocolate Covered Pretzels, Cane Sugar, Peanut Butter (Roasted Peanuts, Sugar, Peanut Oil, Salt), Chocolate Flakes (Sugar, Unsweetened Chocolate, Cocoa Butter, Dextrose, Soy Lecithin, Natural Vanilla Extract), Tapioca Syrup, Honey, Sea Salt.Nestlé brand KitKat has unveiled a new look as a five-finger bar, putting a contemporary spin on the original bar which comprised of four fingers. ![]() This jazzy ensemble of sweet, salty, and gooey had us dancing in our test kitchen! It’s so good, in fact, that when Whole Foods asked us to make a flavor just for them, I knew it had to be this one. Plus one not-so-secret ingredient - honey - which gives our peanut butter ice cream a dreamy, nougat-y texture and flavor. Four ingredients to rule them all: Peanut butter, caramel, chocolate, pretzels. Back BlurbĪn ode to my all-time favorite candy bar. ![]() Peanut butter, caramel, chocolate, and pretzels in perfect harmony. Visit Whole Foods to grab a pint before it disappears. Jeni’s promised us a High Five candy bar in a pint-and delivered. Overall: It’s a decadent combination of salty and sweet that rockets over the top with its generous mix-ins. It was the right balance of these mix-ins against each other because any more chocolate might tend to overwhelm the other flavors. The pint has more pretzels than chocolate chunks, but the distribution worked for me. A darker chocolate, adding some texture and crunch. The caramel really kicks the sweetness of this pint up a notch, and while I could imagine some might find it lends too much sweetness, for me it was the perfect amount of caramel.Ĭhocolate: Moderately sized chocolate chunks. There’s only a modest amount of it throughout the pint, but it’s potent enough, and there are so many other mix-ins, that I don’t think I would want more caramel. It’s the rich, thick caramel you might find in a High Five bar. It’s a great contrast in this pint: the salty pretzels against all the sweets-peanut butter, caramel, chocolate.Ĭaramel: The caramel swirl is obvious from the moment you open the pint-as you can see from the picture. Larger pretzels were still crispy inside, but a few smaller, broken pieces were a bit soggy-adding some variety of texture. The milk chocolate coating on the pretzels will melt in your mouth. Pretzel: Pretzel pieces everywhere, in every spoonful, some half an inch long. The pint’s back blurb says that honey is the secret ingredient in this base-and perhaps that sweetness helps moderate the peanut flavor. The taste is sweet on the front with a peanut butter finish. Peanut butter base: A rich, creamy, sweet peanut butter base with the aroma of a candy bar.
